| PREPARATIONS FOR YOUR FUTURE
We have to accept that the rapid change in all fields of the oriented economy must have brought very big benefits and favorable conditions to young people. Young people have surely gained the knowledge of modern science and advanced technology. In spite of this, they still have to prepare for their future carefully.
In the old days, the youth played a the important ones, so the decisions of the elders were final. The young were dependent, and they had to listen as well as learn experience from the elders. But now, everything has changed. The youth appear to involve in every field. In modern time, the young generation plays a vital role in the development and prosperity of the nation. No one else but young people is the future master of their own country.
So as to do this well, the young have to prepare many things for themselves. We all may agree that knowledge is one of the most important belongings for us to step into our own life. In fact, for long time, knowledge has been highly appreciated by our ancestors. Thanks to knowledge, we have the ability to reason as well as distinguish good things from bad things. However, some people use their knowledge to do something wrong. In this way, too much knowledge is also dangerous. In some cases, the more knowledge a person has the more tricks he can figure out. Many people use their knowledge to cheat others, to produce false goods and so on. So, beside knowledge, we should live a moral life. If a person has too much knowledge, it is good but he has to know how to use his knowledge to serve the mankind.
In addition, the way of living is one of the belongings to us. We should avoid a life of gross self-indulgence, an irresponsible or snobbish life. As we know, many young people now choose the devoting way of living. There are many graduates who have volunteered to serve in remote rural or mountainous areas. Whenever the summer vacation comes, many young people, especially students, take part in the so-called “The Green Summer Volunteer Campaign”; thousands of the youth participate in “The Week of Keeping the City Clean and Green”, “The Anti-drug campaign”; “The Month of Safety and Order Traffic” etc. There have been many good examples of overcoming difficulties in study and labor among the young. They have contributed a lot to the development of the nation. All of these people are worth being praised. This is a real belonging for our life.
In short, in the oriented time, belongings for us, in my opinion, are good knowledge, good ways of living and a good moral life. Do you think so? Let’s share your points of view in today’s discussion.
